Cpu upgrade question.

Alright i am looking to upgrade my cpu soon.
My rig:
Z370-a pro
I3-8100
GTX 1060 6gb

I want to upgrade to a i5-8600k or a i5-9600k.
So what is the smartest thing to do for me right now?

Probably not worth the extra cash for the K model, but yeah, in your case 8600 would probably be the best pick.

Either upgrade is supported on your motherboard.
You might need a bios update for 9th gen.
Performance will be similar, but with the revised heat spreader, you are likely to be able to get a easier overclock with the 9600K.

Plan on a decent aftermarket cooler since neither does not come with a cooler and the stock cooler of the i3-8100 will not be sufficient.
