First of all hello :).Atm i have a pentium E5400 overclocked to 3.1ghz and i want to do an upgrade at the moment i can pick up a xeon 5335 a server cpu quad with a sticker and removing the notches on the motherboard it will fit.
my question is is it worth the upgrade? i can get the xeon for less then 10$
also my mb is: http://www.asrock.com/mb/intel/g41m-vs3/
i can not seem to find what is the max power that the mb supports for the cpu the xeon uses around the 15-20 watts more but dont know the limit of the motherboard but i saw on some forums that is around 130 but not sure :$

Solution
Most 775 boards will not support 771 CPUs, even with an adapter sticker. I've tried with several over the years. Best to buy a CPU that works with your board.
