Hi guys,

I apologise if this question has been asked 1000x before but i'm looking for a little bit of advice on what CPU to upgrade to.

I currently have the below specs:

CPU : AMD FX - 8350
MB: MSI 990FXA Gaming
RAM : 16GB DDR4 HyperX Fury (1600MHz)
GPU: GTX 1080 (massive bottle neck going on due to my current CPU)
PSU: Corsair CX600

I use my PC for gaming mainly. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.

Good price too.

If you want the best performance for gaming and don't care about anything else then...

PCPartPicker part list...
Here are your options that I'd consider.

From best to worst for gaming.. Core i7 7700K/Core i7 7700/Core i5 7600K/Ryzen 5 1600x/Ryzen 5 1600

If I wanted something cheap I'd look at Ryzen 5 1600. If price didn't matter so much then the Core i7 7700K is the best option.

I, however, do not know your budget.

Also there's the used market. There are Core i7 4770k's selling for less than $240 on ebay right now. It's still a viable option if you need to save money.

Thanks for your help, going to look at the 7700k and the more expensive option.
