CPU Upgrade suggestions

Hello,
I'd like to upgrade my CPU and maybe MoBo with a budget of about 200 / 250 $.

This is my actual setup:

CPU: AMD FX-6300 - 46.1%
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1070 - 104.1%
SSD: Samsung 840 Pro 128GB - 83.4%
SSD: Ct250mx5 0 250GB - 96.1%
HDD: WD Blue 500GB (2010) - 57.6%
RAM: G.SKILL Ares DDR3 1866 C9 2x4GB - 52.8%
MBD: Asrock 970 Pro3 R2.0
PSU: XFX PRO450W

I got an Oculus Rift and works fine, but I'd like to obtain more stable FPS and more detailed graphic.

Is there anything I can do? Any suggestions?

The problem is the AM3+ motherboard and the DDR3 RAM - You can't buy good CPUs for that socket and for AM4 Ryzens you need DDR4 RAM. So you need to upgrade your RAM also.

This is the cheapest decent upgrade I would recommend, it's 270 dollars and you would probably want to increase your RAM to 16 gigs in the future.

Solutions are both valid. Unfortunately in Italy prices are a bit higer, but mixing both solution I could make it with my budget.

Isn't the Ryzen 3 1200 just a bit stronger than the FX-6300?
Because I think so.

The performance per core is much better, the 1200 is even better then the 9590 FX for gaming. While it fits within the budget the OP would be better off with 1400 or better however this will still give them a significant bump in performance over that FX 6300.

Sorry again, I'm totally ignorant about CPUs and how they works. I make this question just to try to understand something.

For example, Rizen 3 1200 has 4 cores at 3.1 GHz, FX6300 has 6 cores at 3.5 GHz.

Now, I believe Rizen is a better CPU, but why? In what? Is the benefit that I can put DDR4 on an AM4 board and the CPU also will work better with them?
