As of now i have the AMD FX-4130 Cpu and ive been seeing a lot of gaming benchmarks with the Intel Pentium G3258 when overclocked and they are insane would it be better for me to get the intel cpu or something like an AMD FX-6300

Solution
Depends on your budget. If your budget is very limited, you'd be better off getting the FX 6300, or even an FX 8320, as you should be able to keep your same motherboard (as well as avoiding having to reinstall your Windows OS).

If you have enough budget, you could maybe consider switching. However, while the per-core performance might be slightly higher on the Pentium, it's a dual-core chip, & near-term games are heading towards using more of the cores on a CPU; going from a quad-core to a dual-core, even if each core has better performance, sounds too much like a downgrade to me. If you're really wanting to switch to Intel, I would recommend at least some sort of core i3, or preferably an i5...but only if you have the budget for it.

what GPU do you have?

Any Intel cpu is better than any AMD cpu......AMD is soooooo far behind in technology and instructions when it comes to cpu's. Haswell i3@stock settings will beat AMD's fastest 8 core cpu at the moment..... and that's sad!

650ti soon to be r9 280x

i've been looking into intel's i5 and i7 chips ive been debating if i should get an i7 940 for 100 dollers or should i go with the i5 3570k for 150 dollers

If you're going to go between those 2 Intel chips, I'd pick the i5 3570K over the i7 940. It has better performance (benchmarks put it 35-50% better than the i7), it supports faster and more memory (i7 only handles up to 24 GB of DDR3-800 or -1033, i5 can handle up to 32 GB of DDR3-1333 or 1600), & it has onboard graphics (only Intel HD, but it supports up to 3 monitors without a discrete GPU).

im not computer illiterate.. lol i know thats not true that sounds like somthing an intel fanboy would say.. Cause i know for a fact that the fx 6300 and the 8350 are just as good in games as the i7 im not doing much editing so ill wait the extra 2-5 min for it to render its not worth 400 dollers for something thats compared to a $100 6300... Hell the i7 4770k is just as good as the g3258... in gaming of course.

thank you for the help 😀 I think ill go out and get the i5 but if i cant manage theres always the 8350
