Hello, I have a Toshiba Equium A100-338 laptop with a T5200 cpu. Is it possible to upgrade and if so what size and make is compatable. Thanks

Its possible, but highly not recommended to fiddle with a laptop processor. Too much work :)

Within ur 5000 series, the T5300 (2M Cache, 1.73 GHz, 533 MHz FSB) looks highly compatible with ur mobo, but its not worth upgrading to.
However, if u find that ur mobo supports chips with a 666MHz FSB, then there a whole lotta chips u can upgrade to :)

Soldered??? *** i never knew that!!!
I though they were just socket based like normal desktop/server chips!!

Whats with these BGA sockets n stuff like that then?

No, it is not soldered, same as usual socket on motherboard.
