Hi,

I want to ask, if it worth upgrading R5 1600 (14nm) for R5 3600 (dont need to buy new MB) or go for R5 5600x (propably with B550 Tomahawk) for gaming at 1080p 144Hz monitor.

Few games that I play got fps around 70 and most games got 100+ fps so I dont have problem with fps on actual games but when I look some benchmarks with R5 5600X looks like games got fps boost around 40-50% and would be fine but that benchmark was with RTX 3090. And if with my GPU will be just around 10-15% then there is no reason for me to upgrade it.

Spec:
CPU: Ryzen 5 1600 (14nm)
Motherboard: MSI B450M-A PRO MAX
RAM: Patriot Viper Steel Series 16GB KIT DDR4 3600Mhz CL17
GPU: MSI RX 5700 Gaming X (with XT bios)
PSU: Corsair RM650 (2018)

Solution
I'd suggest waiting a bit and see if MSI comes out with a BIOs for your B450 that way you can just go straight to the 5000 series. AMD has said the B450 can support the new 5000 series, but up to the board manufacturer to incorporate it.

If not, go to the 3000 series then wait for the next update to refresh everything. Cause, if you're getting the mobo and CPU, you'll want new RAM to match as well right?
