Cpu upgrading. i3 2100 to i5 3470 on Hewlett-Packard 1495 (SOCKET 0).

Hello there,
i m planning to upgrade my CPU from i3 2100 to i5 3470, they both have same sockets, but motherboard is Hewlett-Packard 1495 (SOCKET 0) and my friend told me that i5 3470 may not work on that motherboard. That is the problem, i need to know if this i5 3470 is going to work on this Hewlett-Packard 1495 (SOCKET 0) motherboard.

There's no such thing as a socket 0. Could you provide a more specific model for your computer? They are usually more like "HP Pavilion p6-1495cn". A service tag or serial number could help us identify it. If not, then take a picture of the motherboard and the case and I'll try to guess what the actual model is.

As for what your friend said, he might me right as having the same socket doesn't necessarily mean they'll be compatible because HP doesn't always add the CPU microcode necessary for the board to boot with newer processors. It may work, but most likely it won't.
