Hi guys,

I built my gaming PC a few weeks ago and everything was smooth up until now, I haven't noticed any drop in performance but I've been keeping a close eye on hardware monitor and recently some problems have occured. When I first start my PC up and immediately open hardware monitor it says all my CPU cores are running at 100% then drops to normal 0-4% but when I have nothing open only task manager, core temp, and hardware monitor, the cpu spikes sporadically up to 50-60 even 90%load briefly even when nothing is happening. I'm very concerned as nothing has been touched and it was running lovely. I ran a full scan using McAfee and no malware was found and the temps are also normal, I was also keeping an eye on resource monitor but I saw nothing out of the ordinary. In resource monitor, the highest average is 0.45 belonging to LED keeper.exe which is part of MSI mystic light

CPU - Ryzen 5 2600
Motherboard- MSI gaming plus x470
Ram - 16gb GSkill Trident Z

update - System just overtook at 0.47

I have had resource monitor open for a long time as i said the highest cpu usage belonged to LED keeper.exe before being overtaken by system, currently it is mcafee as im running another scan

McAfee wasnt running on resource monitor when the spikes are happening, but I have run scans with both McAfee and Malwarebytes and neither found anything but yet briefly I saw the file hxtsr.exe take up alot of usage for split second, I cant locate the file for the life of me, but I understand its part of microsoft office but I dont have office installed so extremely worried

UPDATE- I caught the file on resource manager, and it says its from microsoft outlook so less worried, any ideas if this is a common problem causing spikes or could it be something else

that is from MS Office. Repair your Office install. that might fix it. your AV might have a problem with it. I just use built in Defender, never an issue

it's here

C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps_17.7167.40721.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\hxtsr.exe

I don't have office installed, at least not on my programs list

I don't seem to have windows apps in my programs files

ignore me I've had a long day ive found the file
