Question Cpu voltage higher when using pc than in bios

So I overclocked my 9700k to 5ghz, The vcore is set to 1.32 volts, But in core temp and cpuid I am getting anywhere from 1.389 to 1.482. I'm obviously worried i'm going to fry my cpu, My idle temps seem fine 34-37c, i've never seen it go higher than around 70 degrees when gaming, I have AIO watercooler. So should I be worried about this?


Also, the guide I used had me set it so that my cpu is running 5ghz always, I'm not sure if this is a normal thing to do?

It's likely your chip can't do 5ghz at 1.32v...the motherboard is trying to keep the oc stable. Make sure you've disabled all of the appropriate cpu features like speedstep.

Okay so I just dropped it down to 4.8ghz, still at 1.32, it spikes to 1.39ish. I ran cpu burner and my voltage drops to under 1.3? I'm really confused.


I wanted to add that I just ran prime95 and the vcore jumps back up to 1.413ish at 4.8ghz. Temps stayed around 60 and nothing crashed, should I be worried that it's jumping up so much higher than 1.32?
