I don't know if this is to be expected, but, my hardware /should/ be doing 60fps+ easy.
I don't know if this is to be expected, but before building my PC, I did a lot of research. The components I used were highly recommended for 1080p/60FPS high-ultra, and I'm not seeing a stable 60fps on anything.
Here is my build,
i5 6500 3.2ghz
Gigabyte Radeon 380x 4gb Windforce
8gb Ram
Gigabyte B-150M-D3H motherboard
Win 7
EVGA Gold 80+ 550w modular PSU
I am very new to all this, and I'm just kind of let down. I don't know if I chose the wrong components, if something is configured wrong,... AA is always off, vsync is always on (60hz monitor), PC is set to high performance mode, no overclocking, temps are good (CPU rarely hits 45c under load, GPU hasn't pushed 64c)
Here is a galley of my radeon settings, afterburner graphs (during GTA V) and my temps/info from CPUID. I don't even know where to begin, but I'm just kind of bummed. Or maybe I am expecting too much. But between the FPS dips, the stuttering, and the pop in (on SSD or HDD), it's getting frustrating!
Of all the steps I've done, what comes to mind...
1) DDU removed drivers, installed latest Crimson drivers.
2) Installed clockblocker to keep GPU from downclocking.
3) Have all fans set to high to keep temps cool to prevent overheating.
4) Uninstalled GTA V from HDD, installed to SDD.
5) Ensured nothing is letting games hit past 60fps, resulting in screen tearing. 6) New machine, no viruses/etc
7) Set CPU intense games like witcher/gta to High Priority. Nothing is draining CPU, when launching games the load is 2% at idle.
8) Capped FPS with Rivia and Radeon Control Panel to 60, turned off Vsync. Get bad screen tearing.
I have ran the firestrike demo, and my benchmark score was 7278. If anybody has any suggestions on how I can optimize performance, if something is wrong, or if I well and truly just cannot run GTA V at 60fps/1080p with this hardware, it would be greatly appreciated.
I was told my voltages for my CPU are out of whack. I have, literally, no idea what that means, and how I fix it. If it helps, my PC does double-post on restart...so I hit restart, it boots, shuts down, and than boots again.
