[SOLVED] CPU vs SSD what should I upgrade first? Need help please

Guys I have HP Compaq Elite 8200 SFF

8G Ram

i3 2100 CPU

WD Blue 1 TB HDD 7200 RPM Class

Windows 10 Home 64 Bit
Geforce GTX 1050 TI mini 4G Graphics card connected with riser cable

and I have 2500 INR to spare.

I can get refurbished i5 2500 CPU at around 2000 INR on aliexpress

or Brand new 240GB sata SSD for around 2500 INR

Please help me decide what is best for overall pc performance.

I'm no expert by any means,
but I'd say it highly depends on what you're experiencing. SSD makes sure programs are booted fast (including Windows). So if you're only experiencing slow boot / startup times, but not slow programs after they've loaded, go for the SSD.

If you're experiencing acceptable boot times but slow programs while running them, go for a better CPU.

Disclaimer: I have not looked up the CPU / SSD you are going to buy.

Edit: If you are experiencing slow boot times and slow programs after boot, I'd choose better CPU.

Go for the CPU first, then the SSD. 4 cores of the i5 is going to be a huge jump over 2 cores of the i3 and make much better use of your 1050ti. Having an SSD won't really impact FPS in gaming as such just make loading faster.

What exactly has been "refurbished" on the i5? Just out of interest...

Refurbished means old used processors cleaned up (thermal paste) and tested for working. I guess some stores do stress tests. Watch video on below page

get SSD, both CPU dont have a difference you will see right away. SSD on the otherhand is change you will see right away, you can also use it in next build as yours is in its last leg

It is much more than a fast boot option.
It makes everything you do so much quicker.

If your main use is for gaming, then you need to decide if it is your cpu that is holding you back.
I5-2500 would be a good upgrade.
To see if your games are sensitive to core speeds, try this test:
In windows power management, reduce the max cpu % from 100 to 80%
If you see little difference in fps, your graphics card is more of a limiter.
OTOH, if you do see a performance decrease , you can now guess the benefit of a 20% performance boost from a i5-2500.

Not exactly itching to spend it but trying to figure out more sensible first upgrade.
It's for casual gaming and some work life Photoshop, Browsing, Web Scraping software's etc.
I would also consider going for i7 2600 but those are still unrealistically priced. even refurbished ones.
Overtime I plan to add more ram upto (16 gig) and SSD as well

i would go first for the cpu, then later a ssd, the hard disk you have is decent, so you are not in problems thanks to it, but the cpu will definitively will give you a performance increase you will feel immediately in games and in general
