My specs are as follows:

CPU - AMD Athlon x2 6000+ 3.01GHz stock
Video - XFX Geforce 9800gt 512Mb
Motherboard - Gigabyte m61p-s3
PSU - ocz Stealthxstream 600w
HD - western digital 250gb

Just last night I had flashed my bios (F5) to F7F. The Gigabyte website tells me to Load Optimized Defaults after flashing, which I did.

Now after that, I boot into windows, and what is this? My cpu keeps emitting a whine, or high frequency noise when under whatever amount of load. It has never done this before, not once.

What setting would have changed?

I will gladly appreciate any help given!

I just did and its coming from under the CPU

Okay, im pretty sure i just solved it. I ran cpuz after flashing F7F and the cpu clock was 1000mhz! and the multiplier was x5

I downgraded it to F6 to see what that would do, and then set the multiplier to x15 and it reads 3000mhz as normal. No whining anymore or high freq noises!!!

Why it does that idk hahah
