Question CPU with a few broken off/bent pins still runs?

So my Ryzen 7 3700x has a few bent and/or broken pins on it, but my PC still turns on (and seems like it’s attempting to run because I get code beeps about faulty RAM which I know is the case and needs some replacement) but I was wondering if this signals that the CPU itself still is functional and usable?

Agree with the above. Those bent/broken pins are likely the cause of the RAM issues.

And it hasn't actually booted up yet?
That CPU is dead.

That makes sense, because my RAM sticks light up just fine, I don’t know if that’s a sign of them working or, because my Ryzen 7 3800XT CPU when installed has the pc turn on then immediately off, so I’m gonna have to RMA it :/

Those pins are there for a reason and most likely bent/missing pins are associated with the memory controller. High chance that's the reason for your Dram errors too.
Thats what I was thinking but just wanted to see if there were any other opinions on the situation out there, because I had some guy on Reddit tell me my new PSU shorted out my RAM and all attached components even thought everything seems to light up perfectly fine and such, my PSU is a super flower Super Flower Leadex III 850W 80+ Gold

Warranty RMA does not cover pins that you broke.

How did this happen?
My 3700x is the one with the broken pins, meanwhile my 3800XT is the CPU I’m going to RMA since for some reason it won’t boot up in my PC, it turns on then immediately back off, and I checked there are no bent or missing pins the things like 3 weeks old and looks practically brand new

Lighting would probably still work while there is power running through but functionality for it's intended purpose is out.

Ignore the person on Reddit. Ask if you can rma the cpu, it's Christmas they might say yes. They can only say no, no harm done asking. :)

That's kind of confused things a little. Check you're actually seating the memory properly into the slots.

What's the rest of your system specs?

I put in a ticket actually two days ago for the processor and I’m hoping the can fix it, I don’t expect them to answer back too soon though because it is Christmas and such so I’m sure their limited on staff, really hope they RMA it tho lol cause I got college again in 4 weeks

So the 3700x has the broken pins.
You tried to power it up, and fail?
Then you put the 3800XT in, and it still fails to boot?

I'm suspecting the faulty 3700x blew out the motherboard.

Just to try to help clear things up

my PC starts up with the 3700x (broken bent pins) but the board beeps out the faulty RAM code

with the 3800XT (the one I’m going to RMA) my PC turns on then immediately back off again

and I checked if they were reseated properly and they were but still the issues persisted :/

my specs are
-NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 2060
-Ryzen 7 3800XT
-HyperX® 16 GB DDR4-3200
- Super Flower Modular 850w 80+ Gold PSU

I have questions as to if the PSU is really reliable or not, heard that they are, but the dude on reddit sorta got it in my head the PSU is trash :/

Yeah the 3700x gets the board to turn on and all and beep out the codes, meanwhile the 3800XT just gets the PC to turn on then immediately back off again

this all happened after I swapped mother boards with a MSI MAG X570 Tomahawk (I only used the 3800XT in it) and had to RMA it because the CPU socket was defective and wouldn’t let the CPU fit in properly

Psu is fine, Super Flower are up there with the best.

Troubleshoot more with your ram. Remove both and try each one separately in the 2nd slot from cpu.

Using a faulty processor might've done harm though, it's something to consider.

The part about the Mag x570's socket being faulty, i hope you didn't try force anything. Whatever happened there may have caused 3800XT damage as well.

I’ve tried trouble shooting with the RAM to no avail :/ and I didn’t really force anything, I used both CPUs in the socket and the 3700x came out fine unlike the 3800XT the only difference is I attached the cooler to the CPU so I think that might’ve affected it a bit sadly, but it’s just weird because absolutely none of the pins are bent/missing and there’s no visible damage at all
