My CPU Is An AMD FX-8350 And My Mother Board Is A Gigabyte 970A-DS3P, And For What I Know, They Are Both Unlocked And Allow Overclocking So Can Someone Explain To Me Why It Won't
My wife's system fx6300 on a gigybyte 970 gaming sli
Doesn't like a normal oc.
I was able to boost the core performance boost multiplier.
But that is pretty much it.
Doing prime95 runs and watching hwinfo64 it boost upto 4.6 at short bursts.
Good luck.
On my 3 different systems
2 of which are still fx
1 you use the page up and down keys with in and field to change values.
The other uses the +/ minus keys of number keys to change values.

Well actually you best bet on that cpu and board is look for core performance boost or turbo core something like that which increases the turbo speed.
Look for that multiplier and increase it with vcore offset.
That cpu is to much to oc on that board.
You are setting youself up for a big headache.

But It Is Also Locked (Its Not Moving From Auto To Manual)
Keep an eye on
voltage 1.55 max
heat 70c max
Get occt, prime95, aida64 atleast 1 of those for stress testing and get core temp or hwinfo64 for monitoring temps.
There are plenty of fx oc guides out you can look them up.
Little steps on multipliers and volts.
Set test set test if it can't stress test for more then 8hrs or better
With safe temps and voltages it's not stable.
If formal oc doesn't work raise
Core performance boost up a few and a lttle more voltage or Offset voltage.
And retest.
Good luck!!!!!!!!!
