[SOLVED] cpu wont run when clamped down

Hi, brand new here but have been to the site for years.
My brand new build is a real pain. The computer wont do anymore than turn on for 1 second and then off while the cpu clamp is down. If I unclamp it but of course leave it secured in, it will run as required? i have never seen this ever. I just replaced the brand new mother board, which is a MSI B360 being almost certain this was the issue, but it is not. HELP, please!!!

Hi, It might be a non-standard height for your CPU...?????
Try returning it, since same issue with 2 boards.

Are you meaning the mother board may be the wrong match for my cpu? My cpu is a i5 intel 7500. Does that help anyone with compatibilty issues.

Yeah, the i5 7500 won't work with a B360 motherboard, you'd need a 100 or 200 series board eg. B150 or B250 to run that CPU. B360 motherboards work with 8th and 9th generation processors only.
