I replaced the motherboard on my hp pavilion p7 1205 (http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03154964) with a biostar h61mvg3 (http://www.biostar-usa.com/app/en-us/mb/introduction.php?S_ID=640#spec). I also replaced the oem cooler with an Artic Alpine 11 pro Rev.2 cpu cooler (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835186061). I have already installed the cpu and cooler and I have reconnected the cables, but the computer will not start. I think I may have reconnected the cables incorrectly, but I don't know which one's missing/misplaced. I really need to make sure that it's the cables and not the motherboard itself that's not working.

It doesn't power up at all. That's why I'm assuming the cables are just placed incorrectly. This is my first time so I'm just wondering which cables I need to just test if it powers up. I really doubt that it's the motherboard itself, but Im not sure anymore.

I believe it has something to do with the front panel. There's a 4 pin cable that was placed under a "F_USB3", but I can't find that anywhere on my new motherboard. It did look like it trailed toward the power button area.

Thats probably for the front usb ports, the mobo might not have headers for it. Make sure your power/reset buttons are plugged in right, I made that mistake when I first built mine and instantly freaked out thinking DOA. My power and led cables looked like individual 1 or 2 pin connectors that had to be in the right places.

I'm just going do a trial and error. I heard that mixing a "firewire" with front USB ports will fry my motherboard, but I don't know what that is and think I don't have one of those in my computer.
