Cpu won't work

So I got a problem and I have absolutely no clue how to fix it. I have a intel i5 CPU and just bought a intel i7-7700K and I installed it on my MSi mini motherboard. When I went to turn it on everything powered up but my usbs and monitors won't turn on. I thought I fried the motherboard but when I switched back to the i5 everything worked. Am I missing something or could the i7 I bought be a dud? Please respond asap

What's the model of your motherboard?

depending on the i5 and the i7 and the mb. if your using the older x170 chipset mb and i5. the newer i7 may not work or post till the bios is updated on the mb. the other thing to check is bent pins on the mb.
