CPU wouldn't stay in Socket

Input my cpu in the correct way but when I pushed the lever down there was no force. I was a bit confused but I kept going so I put in the stock cooler and the cpu lifted up with the cooler and got stuck to the thermal paste. What do I do.

CPU: Ryzen 2700x
Motherboard: ASRock Fatal1ty X470 Gaming K4 AM4

Can you take a picture(s) of your cpu/socket right as you are ready to "push the lever down"?

There is not much force needed, that's why it's called ZIF (Zero Insertion Force) lewer should make slight click at bottom position, that's all.

On most "ZIF" sockets, inserting the cpu itself is zero force, but seating it down with the lever as OP describes is NOT zero force. BUt the fact that he's lifting the CPU out of the socket with the cooler "installed"...well that's why I think we need pictures...

Ok I figured it out, I put some force on the CPU when installed and it stayed down.
