CPU-Z 1Gb PC6400

If i'm stupid for posting this and wasting your time, i'm sorry
So...my problem is with CPU-Z and my memory wich is Kinston 1Gb DDR2 PC-6400 800MHz KHX800D2N5/1G CL5. (if cpu-z print screen is necesary i'll post it when i get home, at work now).
As far as i know cpu-z should show the frequency at 400MHz. On the cpu-z site, at FAQs they say that the memory may be displayed wrong in cpu-z due to bandwidth calculation or w/e. My dimm appears to be PC5300 and the frequency it shows me is 300MHz.(not ever 333 like pc5300 should be)
My cpu is a X2 4600 and the multiplier is 12x and that should let my memory run at 800MHz, right? mobo is gigabyte GAM57SLI S4.
So my question would be : is cpu-z wrong and my memory runs at 400 (800) MHz and just that it doesnt show the correct values? BIOS settings are ok and i doubt it that there's a prob with the dimm itself. Uhm...if cpu-z does show the wrong memory specifications, is there any way i can find out that it;s really at 800 MHz for my piece of mind?

It all depends what your FSB is set to.. i.e. divide you processor speed by 12 to give you the FSB.. you may also have a memory multiplier which gives the RAM its speed my multiplying the FSB similar to your CPU.

now...some1 pls tell me if it's just that cpu-z shows my memory wrong and actually it runs at 800MHz or do i have a problem? (like i said i have Kinston 1Gb DDR2 PC-6400 800MHz KHX800D2N5/1G CL5)

Will those sticks do the rated timings? I would contact Kingston, it seems it has been misprogrammed to a 533MHz spd.

Easiest way to get to 800MHz is to clock the Ht to 200 and Multiplier of 10. Giving you a divider of 4. You'll run 2.00 GHz on the cpu, but 800MHz on the memory.

like i said before, i wanna know if this is the case and if there is another way i can check my memory real frequency...dunno really
do u guys think i should change this mem dimm?
i was thinking of getting corsair 2x1GB 800 CL4, but i wanna know first what's the deal with the dimm i have know...

wait... I thought you had some 6400 rated RAM from Kingston that seemed to be programmed 533 ---> 4200. (8x533)

In any case CPU-Z should report whatever your RAM manuf. programs it. 3200 should say PC2-3200, 3500 should say PC2-3500 etc (under spd).

Under the memory tab, is where you'll find what your system is running it too.

First, you need to find out the detailed specs of the RAM you bought. This includes speed (e.g. DDR2-xxx), latency (e.g. CL3 and so forth), and DIMM voltage for the settings in the spec. If this DIMM voltage is anything but the DDR2 standard 1.8V, your RAM has almost certainly been sold according to a manufacturer-sanctioned-overclock spec. See this post for more info:

If you didn't want a manufacturer-sanctioned-overclock, complain and ask for your money back.

take a look, this is the dimm i have 100% sure of it. Mondoman, u said that manufacturer-sanctioned-overclock are ram that run at other voltage then 1.8V, and the thing is that this runs at 1.8V but at 667MHz (that how the SPD was programed) and at 800MHz at 2.0V (see link pls)
So...i'm gonna update bios, get pc wizard 2006 and memtest86, i'll see what i find and post the results with cpu-z pics and stuff...maybe i can run it at 800 with 2.0V and CL5. If not i'm gonna change it cause this is really annoying.
