Question CPU-Z shows single channel although I have 2 sticks

PC shows 16gb as it should, but why showing single channel? Is it because I bought 1X8 + 1X8 and not 2X8?
Does this mean I dont get the dual channel effect?

Consult your motherboard manual to make sure you have the memory in the optimal slots. Usually 1&3 or 2&4.

Oh I didnt know that it has any meaning.. I just thought having it in 2 slots one next to each other is the same

Changed it to 2&4 and now it shows dual. Thanks a lot. Didnt think it matters
