CPU-Z reads the memory modules information directly from the SPD memory chip. The performance mode is a property set in the motherboard's BIOS. For certain boards, you will have to set the performance mode to 'auto' in order for CPU-Z to read the memory's SPD program.

I'm not sure if you can change this setting on a Gateway. But you can try.

I believe (I please correct me if im wrong) that the performance mode CPU-Z is talking about is in fact intels PAT (performance excelleration technology). This is a feature of intels 875 chipset, the 865chipset is identicle to the 875 chipset except it has has PAT disabled.

There is no way to enable PAT on a 865 based board. (Dont worry we are talking about 1% performance difference).

I have been pushing forward slowly but surely. I have quite a bit already.

It's been a stop and go process.

Please let me know if you guys have anything to add.
