Hey,

I know I've made some posts about FX 8320 but I still couldn't choose which one to get.

I was going for the FX 8320 and later I'd get the True Spirit 120 to OC the *** out of the FX 8320 but some guys said the mobo ( ASRock 970 Extreme3 ) would not be enough for a 4.6GHz OC cuz VRM could burn.

Is that true? Would a fan in the side of the case help stopping that? Fans will be Artic Cooling F12PWM, if that matters.

I was confused between the i5-3350p and the FX-8320 but the FX-8320 would certainly outperform the i5 with some overclock.

So now I'm confused if I should get the FX-8320 and VRM won't burn or I should get the FX 6300 and OC it to its maximum ( would it outperform the i5? Would it get to the same level as the FX 8320? ) instead of the i5-3350p but I'm confused ( could VRM still burn with FX 6300? I think it would not, it has a lower TDP and ***, am I right? ).

If I get the FX 6300 I can the True Spirit 120 at the same time. If I get the i5-3350p I can't OC and since socket 1155 is almost EOL I didn't want that, if I get the FX 8320 I have to get the True Spirit 120 later.

Btw, would a True Spirit 140 be any big improvement over the True Spirit 120 or it will do about the same? Cuz it costs 10€ more.

I already saw every review I found in the first 10 pages of Google about that. But it's not just speed that matters here, there are other things that I need to know.

Note: I'll be using the machine for little 3D modelling, programming and gaming ( mainly programming & gaming ).

Okay, that's good.

So should I get the FX 6300 + True Spirit 120 + a 10€ more expensive mobo ( Asus M5A97 R2.0 instead of the ASRock 970 Extreme3 ), the same above but without the 10€ more expensive mobo or the FX 8320 + ASRock 970 Extreme3 and I get a cooler later?

Well, the problem is that I can't put $30 more on this.. It's already on the end of the budget. But I would get it for sure if I could.

I would get the 8320.

Yeah, I did see it 😛 I saw that FX-6300 is similar to FX-8320 in gaming also but in other apps it isn't exactly the same, as you said.
