what is the function of the golden pins that are in the CPU?

power & communications, essentially electrical signaling - electrons flow and the cpu computes via logic gates.

They are the connections to the CPU socket on the motherboard. Think of it as a large plug with many pins. The main idea is that the chip can be removed and replaced without the need for soldering.

yah or your brains (the cpu) connection to your body (the mobo) via your spinal cord & the nervous system (the pins and circuit paths).
basically same thing.
