So, as title says it, recently I've noticed that my CPU clock (on all cores) is going crazy and jumps from 800MHz to 4400 MHz in just 1 and 1.5 seconds doing so back and forth, and that's without any program loading or idling on background, it's just windows services.
I don't what is causing this, cause CPU and motherboard are brand new.
I've not overclocked any specifications of the CPU, in fact I haven't even touched any of the BIOS settings.
Please tell me if it's ok and I shouldn't be worrying or if it's a problem and I need to fix smth, because I really have no idea.
Specs:
CPU - i7-8700k
Motherboard - Gigabyte Z370P D3
Power Unit - Corsair CX600

This is normal CPU behaviour. No need to worry about it. Modern CPUs are designed for maximum efficiency and they constantly change their frequency and voltage levels in order to consume as little power as possible while responding to software demands as fast as possible. This is achieved via turbo boost. The CPU frequency is raised and dropped based on how many CPU cores are being utilised at a given moment. However you can also affect that CPU behaviour by changing the Windows power plan settings. If you choose the maximum performance setting you'll stop seeing frequency drops, but at the same time, your CPU will consume more power, while being more responsive to software needs. I hope this helps. Good luck.

It can ramp up from 800 MHz to 4.5 GHz instantly, and back down to 800 Mhz in less than 1 second....(behind the scenes, the CPU can adjust clock speeds at up to 20 times/sec, but, your task manager/HWMonitor display will only catch bits and pieces of that..)
