So I'm about to build a pc and I just saw that the CPUs for the next gen consoles will be AMD 8-Core, that means that unless Devs modify their PC port to be want more power per core rather than more cores, then AMD will be the way to go in the future, now I'm buying parts to build a new pc (don't worry don't have a mobo yet) and I'm planning on getting the intel 3570k (which is apparently really good), the reason I want to get an intel processor is so that I can use SLI with nvidia gpus, so I wonder, will intel be moderately obsolete in the next gen and I should go with AMD or will be ok with intel and I can use my beloved Nvidia GPUs

Intel will be, by no means, outdated next gen. Some of their dual core cpus are still running well today. It will be a long time before having 8 cores will be a necessity, its good long term, but it wont be outdated in the next few years. AMD processors can also be used with Nvidia so I dont see why that is an issue. The 8350 is a good long term solution, but with steamroller coming out it might be better to wait on the FX series. At current standards the 8350 is outperformed by intel in alot of cases, but the 8 cores will last long into the future.

Are you trying to win an award for the longest run on sentence?
