Hey.
I am going to buy an "Intel® Core™ i5-8400" and I saw that its memory type is DDR4-2666.
What will happen if i use DDR4-2133? And DDR4-3000?
The motherboard I am planing to use is "MSI - Z370-A PRO ATX" which supports: DDR4-2133 / 2400 / 2666 / 2800 / 3000...
Thanks.

Solution
2666MHz and lower will work on any Intel 300 series chipset motherboard, while anything over 2666MHz will require an Intel Z370 series chipset motherboard because it will need to be overclocked past 2666MHz.

As of right now, Intel has only released its Z370 series boards. Later they will release cheaper, non-overclocking motherboards with 300 series chipset compatible with their 8th-gen Coffee Lake processors.
