[CPUs]Old CPU with new motherboard

I've decided to upgrade my more than 6 year old computer. I'm going from a AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4400+, GA-M56S-S3 Motherboard and 2GB DDR2 400MHz to AMD 1045t, 970A-D3 Motherboard and Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600MHz.

I'll be getting the 970A Motherboard a few days earlier than the rest of the parts, and I would like to install it in the mean time to make sure it is working.

My question is will the 970A work with the 4400+ Brisbane CPU?

One more unrelated question. Would the 4400+ Brisbane and the 2GB DDR2 400MHz bottleneck an 285GTX? If so, by how much?

No it will not since AM2 CPU only has DDR2 controller and the new board is for DDR3

Probably but you could always overclock the CPU to reduce the bottleneck.
