[CPUs] What's the best one for my MB?

OK, I am bit confused by how ASUS has their specs laid out for my MB. I would like to get a new processor but I want to know which one is the best available for the MB I currently have. Here is a link to the tech specs of the MB:

I want to get the best AMD Quad-Core processor that will go into this MB.

the best amd quad core is the phenom ii x4 980. The motherboard cpu support list shows only up to a 965, but im pretty sure the 980 would work as well since its the same chip. I think the list hasnt been updated.

its an OEM so there is no heatsink/fan. If you dont want to buy one, you can just get the 975
