cpuz showing low clock on gpu

I have the evga gtx 750 ti sc and I recently ran the cpuz test and it said that the core clock was 405 MHz while sitting at my desktop? would it be higher if I was in a game or something ? it should be around 1250 mhz.

Yes its slowing itself down to save power when you aren't using its full potential.

Don't worry. I'm using GTX 780Ti and my clock in CPU-Z is 504MHz. Use GPU-Z to read the correct value of Graphics. Every time you run CPU-Z it will show different values in Clock under Graphics tab.
