Cracking/Taser Sound through headset

I have a pair of Kingston Cloud I's and I am getting an interment cracking/taser sound. Typically the only people who could hear it were the people I talk to via skype/mumble but recently I started hearing it. The headset is plugged directly into my motherboard and I am wondering if there is a problem with one of those ports.

Has one had to deal with something similar or have past experience?





Update- The sound occurs when the mic is unmuted and muted. It is not a problem with the headset because I RMA'ed it and got a brand new one and the problem persists.

Are you hitting the mic? Try turning it off and see if the noise still occurs.

Sometimes if my hair is wet and water gets into the headset it happens to me but goes away the next day.
