Crackling noise via skype.

Hello there people that know much more than me!
I'd like to ask you, what possible option there is left for me because my friends are getting crazy and the reason is the crackling sound I produce via skype. I've already tried most of the software options so there is only the hardware option left. My question here is if a sound card would help resolve this issue because I might makde some static damage on the mobo back when I built the computer.

I didn't know that internet could do such thing. I have a lousy internet connection that is 1/2 MB/s download speed. Never even thought about this option. Thanks for telling me.
