Crash after OC stress test

Hello, so I recently bought some fans for my case and my cpu Its about 5 Cº cooler on idle and under load, so I decided to overclock it even more :)

Specs:
A10 7700k 3.4Ghz @ 3.8
Hyperx Fury 1x4 1x8 @ 1600 CL7
Stock CPU and GPU cooler
MSI GTX 750ti
Generic 500w PSU
500GB WD Disk 7200rpm
MOBO: A55BM-A/USB3

So, my CPU was stable for 30 Minutes @ 4.0GHz in a furmark burn test, so I thought it was good, I ran a prime95 for about 2 hours and good. Later on I was making a song in fruity loops and it crashed, WHY DIDNT IT CRASHED WHEN I WAS WATCHING VIDEOS, Im really mad, it was about 3 hours of work, anyways, any solution? My CPU temps under full load don't exceed 60Cº

What kind of crash? Did the system lock up with the sound repeating about a half-second loop? Blue screen? Error message of any kind?

Just so its out of the way, be sure to update your audio to the latest driver available from realtek.com.

The BIOS will allow you to have multiple profiles. You might want to investigate creating a stock or near stock profile to boot into when you are being productive, just to be on the safe side.

With current settings, I'd make a bootable USB or CD, and do thorough testing with Memtest86+. Make sure that passes all tests with your overclocked or stock settings.

For a final test, I usually run Prime95 on all but one of the cores. Torture test with small fft's. I leave the last core available, and run 3DMark. Having both running simultaneously will give you pretty good data for temperatures and stability.

AIDA64 is also excellent software for troubleshooting and stress testing.

WhoCrashed is also a nice program for analyzing crash dumps and spotting any troublesome drivers that may be causing you issues.

I recommend looking into all of these options to make sure you have your desired performance and stability.

Edit: Also, the power supply is the most important component in the system. What is it? "generic psu" are trigger words around here, hehehe

Hello clonazepam, thanks for your reply. The crash was just a screen freeze, I just couldn't move mouse, and nothing in the screen did move, audio did freeze too, CPU fan still running, case fans spinning, etc.

I've recently updated the audio drivers because I had some trouble making virtual audio cables.

I'll do all of those tests and notify you about the results.

As I said its a Generic PSU 500W 13A, wit around 220V (KelyX- LBUF-ATX/500)

if your overclocking you need to invest is a GOOD PSU.. as u've said ur still using generic PSU..
maybe it cant handle or not enough headroom for overclocking.. try to buy new PSU..
did you also overclock your GPU?

Hello, sorry for the late reply, yes I did overclock my GPU just at what I can, it is about 250+ clock and 300+ memory, if I go further it does glitch and makes black spots in the screen, is that a PSU problem? because, I'm getting a new case and I could include a PSU with if it needed

One other question: Did you do your overclocking in the BIOS and not using AMD Overdrive? Overdrive can be a real problem as it doesn't seem as stable as BIOS settings. And also don't combine any settings with both. Very unreliable.

whats ur current core clock and memory clock and its boost clocks..?
did do pump up core voltage?
