Crashed hard drive ?? 2 at the same time ??

I know I should have backed up my data, but I didn't.

So I have 2 drives, one master the other slave, both crashed at the
same time ????????

I noticed thatNorton Anti virus was 'unabled' and went to enable it,
and the system rebooted, to nothing. Both drives had vanished, infact
the OS never got past trying to 'locate drives'.

So I had to go and buy a new drive.

These 2 crashed drives, I tried to install as a slave, to try and get
all the data off. I also tried them in another computer, which
recongised the drive make etc in the 'control panel' 'system'
'hardware' but does not show them up in windows explorer.

1 - How can I get them recognised by windows explorer

2 - How can I get the data off them, if not recognised.

3 - Is there any software that can read sectors, tracks etc ??? I seem
to remember writing one in CPM and machine code, but that was 20 years
ago.

4 - HELP HELP all my holiday photos have gone, and the trouble and
strife is not happy. It looks like I am not going to any oats for
months.

Call a data recovery service. Their ads are published in computer magazines or they
can be found thru your local computer stores.
