Crashed

My system crashed and came up with this error message!
"Windows\System32\Config\System missing or currupt" it wont boot past that screen. any help or is it doomed?

This is the exact message:


"Windows could not start because the following file is missing
or corrupt:
\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM

You can attempt to repair this file by Starting Windows Setup
using the oringinal Setup CD-ROM.
Select "r" at the first screen to start repair."

After tis appears when you hit any key it starts to reboot and ends up at the same spot.
