Crashes, running slow and blue screen all of a sudden!

Hi Im not sure which forum to post this so if you would like me to move it then just say.

My computer was working fine up until about 5 days ago when it froze for the first time, I didnt make a note of this as I assumed it was just a random error. However since then it has blue screened a few times with Bugcode error USB (or something along those lines) and Im not sure what to do!

I dont know a lot about this stuff but Im at uni so need my computer to be working and not freezing / blue-screening. Ive ran virus tests and tried re installing drivers to the best of my ability however it is still playing up which is worrying! Can anyone suggest anything please Thanks!

I am running on Windows 7 with the latest service pack.

May I ask what your system is(or the specs if this is a custom build), many times this can be due to a failing Drive, or PSU.

Well your power supply should be more than sufficient, unless it is faulty that is likely not the issue. The next thing would be to reinstall your OS, most likely the installation has become corrupted somehow, this can occur two ways, Malware/adware/virus/etc, or Hard drive failure. You could run WDDIAG(for WD drive), or Seatools (for seagate drive) and run short and extended test if either fails hard drive most likely needs replaced and you will have to reinstall the OS, if they pass then just reinstall OS and you should be back up and running in no time.

Please remember to back up any and all important data before doing a reinstall and format the drive before reinstalling.

Please try these suggestions

Reasons Why Your PC is Very Slow :

1) There are Fragments That Need To Be Defragged in The Reistry and the HDD.
2) HDD are slow and will Become slower if there are Fragments.
3) Windows needs Heavy Optimization and It Has Some Problems.
4) Your PC has Unwanted Softwares and Which Uses Massive Amounts of Memory.
5) Your PC may Not Be Clean and May have Dust In it.
6) Your PC's Drivers may Be Old Which Results in Huge Performance Loss.
7) Dust is a Major Problem for Performance Drops and It Can Destroy Your PC

Fix 1 :

1) Download iObit Advanced System Care 7.4 Pro and Driver Booster 1.5 Pro.
2) Open ASC 7 Installer and Install It and Make it into PRO.
3) Open Driver Booster and Install It and Make it PRO.
4) Run Deep Clean In ASC 7 PRO and while Scanning Uncheck 'Repair Automatically'
5) In ASC 7,Select Go To ToolBox,Open Startup Manager and Uncheck All The Startup Items.
6) Activate Turbo Boost in ASC 7 PRO
7) Open Driver Booster and Scan,Download and Install the Outdated Drivers


Fix 2 :

1) Open Your PC's Case
2) Disconnect All of Your Storage (HDD or SSD) and DVD Writer's Cables from Both The HDD's Socket and The Motherboard's Socket and Keep The Cables Separatley (Sata or IDE It Doesn't Matter !!).
3) Remove The Storage (HDD or SSD) and The DVD Writer From Your PC and Clean The Its Body and Its Socket .

4) Re-Assemble the Parts with The Case and Do Some Better Cable Management !!.

Thats It !!
I am Sure This Works As I Have Tried This In My Old PC.Now I Have an SSD so There Isn't any Performance Issues.

Its not a matter of the computer running slow but rather Blue Screening, the error is caused by malfunctioning hardware, or corrupted OS.

if you are getting a bucheck in USB code, the most common fix would be to update the BIOS and install updated CPU chipset drivers. Particularly if you have a USB wireless device you have plugged in.
If you did not run a setup for some USB wireless devices they will use the default driver the vendor gave Microsoft and that driver is very BAD and cause your system to run very slow. The windows plug and play system detects the device and start to install the for the device using one core, the network drivers start on another core but are blocked until the install completes on the first core. Problem is the first core install fails because of a old BIOS or old chipset drivers and the install just tries again and again and again.
hundreds of times. The last machine I looked at with this problem had attempted 655 install attempts and tied up 2 of the four cores on the machine.

any way, it is just a guess. Update chipset driver for the CPU, maybe the BIOS for the machine and if you have a USB 3.0 device update any special chip driver you have on your motherboard for that device.
