Hello, I'm having some issues with my R9 290 (gigabyte windforce)
The issue is that it randomly crashes during SOME games, by this I mean the game freezes after a split second artifact then the computer needs to be reset, at first I was getting the display driver has stopped working issue, but that no longer occurs, I just black screen and have to restart
I have a 6970 around that I use to test in those same games and it works fine, note that this card also works fine in certain games, however select games cause this crash. I have tried all the basic stuff, reinstalling drivers (proper method) trying older/newer drivers. Forcing constant voltage in MSI, underclocking the memory clock a bit, disabling ULPS, still cannot get it work in certain games.
I am also unable to recreate this issue outside of gaming at the moment, I have ran many attempts of furmark and Heaven to see if I can overload the GPU so to speak, but it performs flawlessly in these
Rest of my specs : i5 -4670k
Asus Z97-A mobo (newest bios)
8GB ram @ 1600
Antec truepower 1000W
Nothing overclocked, everything factory settings.
I am worried if I send it back to RMA they wont be able to recreate the error and I will be charged an arm and a leg, any help would be appreciated on what you would test next, thanks
