Hello, I just built my PC and installed Far Cry 5 and when I go to play it displays a green screen and crashed and im set back to the windows log in. Does anyone know if this is a GPU issue, driver, motherboard, or a bios issue?

Until you post proper system specs, people are unlikely to help. If you can't be bothered, why should anyone else be?

You've been kindly asked to do so and ignored it.

Thats better. What about the RAM, that is very important to know the exact model of the kit you have installed. A bunch of letters and numbers typically.

That.

So first few basics.

This is always the most reliable way but it is the user friendly way. If you hit ctrl+alt+delete and look under memory, what speed is is showing your RAM at? Is it at 4000mhz?

What are your temperatures like? Use HWInfo (free version will work) to see what your CPU temps are.

Next, for your GPU, there are the power cables that go in the side. Did you use separate cables for each connector? In other words, the cables usually have two plugs on them. The main plug and a "pig tail" plug. Some will say it's fine, I am of the notion you should never use the pigtail. Always a separate cable for each plug.

Those are some initial thoughts and things to check.

When I check in task manager it does say 4000 mhz.
my gpu is 37-41 at idle and cpu temps are 41-60 at idle (using MSI afterburner)
I did connect the 2 pin connector if that is what you're referencing.

Ok I looked into what you were talking about and saw videos explaining why. Where can I get another cord?

In MSI afterburner I reduced my MHZ and now it no longer crashes. Do you know why?

Hello, I noticed that I have been crashing in two games (Metro 2033 and Far Cry 5) and when I crash a green screen appears. However, if I reduce my Memory clock speed it no longer crashes and runs completely fine. These are the only two games that I have seen it happen on and I just wanted to know if this has happened to anyone before and is normal or if this is a bigger issue. So far reasons i've seen are overusing power and faulty GPU but I don't believe it is either of those because I have plenty power and it is only in these two games.
Temps seem normal right before crashing aswell.
