You could have used a potion of healing to cure the poison...

Yep.

That hinders your spellcasting, or did you just wear it for the fire
resistance?

Indeed. :) (Btw, you would no longer need the ring of see invisible,
because 'enhances your eyesight' does just that.)

There, they could have saved your butt... (Healing to cure poison,
heal wounds for getting a bigger bunch of hitpoints back than
healing does.) Saving them for later won't do any good when there is
no 'later' to use them...

Btw. You can stash the books, you don't need them to be able to cast
the spells (like in Angband, for example). You memorize them, after
all. :) (Books don't get destroyed, like in Nethack, but they do add
weight, and spellcasters aren't too big in the muscle department,
never mind that you only have 52 slots to carry stuff...)

The ability that Sif Muna grants you to forget spells does the same
as Selective Amnesia, so once you can do that you don't need the
spell.

Its only purpose is to get rid of spells so you can learn other
ones, because you only have a certain number of 'spellpoints'; your
Spellcasting skill * 2 plus your experience level-1. 10*2+12-1 in
this case. They get used up by the Levels of the spells, 30 in this
case.
