So what kind of Crysis marks does it get?

Will I require a water-cooling setup or will air cooling in my garage be enough?

Slight correction: 362TB is not 362,000GB. This beast actually has 362,000GB -- that figure is correct. But you need to divide in base 2 to get to TB, not base 10. So this is actually 2^(-10)*362000 TB = 353.5TB.

And since the DoE has this, what's the power consumption?

The supposed top speed of this is no faster than IBM's roadrunner 1 qaudrillion = 1 petaflop = Roadrunner's current speed. All Cray has done is prove they can hit 1 petaflop without using the cell processor (playstation 3)/operteron setup and just run pure opteron's instead. Whoopity do.

Haha,it's nice they do this all before the new processors come out....
They should of done this in 2009,and they would of beat them by a long shot.

Wouldnt be surprised if they got early releases of the Shanghais. Afterall, when this machine was announced *years* ago, it was designed to have quad-core opterons even before AMD had a quad-core chip out.

Man! How do you back up 10 petabytes? 200,000 dual platter Blu-Ray discs for a backup? Oh man. Better get a 6x burner.

And I hope it has like a Radeon 4870x2048 for graphics...

360,000GB RAM and 45,000 CPU, gives 8GB per CPU, which is one likely configuration. Maybe it's 16GB per pair of CPUs.

I don't know where the other 2,000GB comes in (or if 362TB is incorrect or a rounding anomaly caused by mixing 1000 and 1024). Perhaps 128-256 of the CPUs are "super-nodes" with 16GB+.

Maybe they can lend me the extra 2TB, doesn't really sound like they need it ;)
