Crazy Batou

Hi gang--
I have a minor quest to obtain all the great artifacts. I have all of
them except The Bloodworm Helm. Using the guide, I went to the Maren Tomb
and sure enough, Crazy Batou was wearing the helm. I tried to talk him out
of it, but he just attacked me. When I killed him, a box came up and told me
that I had destroyed the thread of the prophecy and to either load an
earlier saved game, or I was doomed to live in a world I had created by
killing off Crazy Batou. Hey!? What gives? I checked out my stats and no
change. What did it mean? Any ideas? --thanks--dennis

Don't worry and don't start an early saved game. Crazy Batou is some
sort of bug. He doesn't play a part in the main quest and can be killed
without consequense.

Yeah. I have completed the main quest several times with a variety of
characters, and I never yet even met Crazy Batou, I don't think.

It means your last victim is crucial to the main quest... without him/her,
you won't be able to complete the main quest. Perhaps by following the main
quest you kill him/her eventually, but you did that in the wrong time :)

Thanks!! I have completed all except about four quests in the guuidebook
and this was the second time it happened but I thought I'd try again anyway,
fool that I am. It was like a curse or something. Weird. And the guidebook
gives no clue except the name. Ok. I will sleep better tonight. Thanks

& for some reason in my game a new one appears everytime I reload a save
game I have a collection of 10 at the moment which if I sold them all &
got the full amount would mean I had more gold than I know what to do
with it, especially as I have the bank mod installed where I deposit my
spare gold great interest rates they give too.

I've noticed this in my mods (not sure if you're talking about my mod here)
before with leveled items that are placed in the mod and then moved. I
didn't notice it in particular with the Helm, but I did notice that if I
use/move the alchemy equipment on the table at the west end of my Balmora
House, it regenerates.

I assume that the same is true of the Helm and whatever other leveled items
I put in that mod, or any other.

Great Mod by the way & yes they only regenerate if I pick them up & move
them I found the same with the 3 or 4 gold coins in the house in Caldera
that you can buy from the bank but I guess that would take ages to make
a worthwhile investment. I'm trying to gain as many properties as I can
(4 from the bank, the lowgenius house, Halora! House that you get built
as part of the quest & am trying for the East Empire House when I
complete the Quests)
