Dear Everyone.
Crazy mouse problem!
I've got two hard drives, XP and 7 cos some of my old software HATES 7! And the mouse has flat stopped working in XP, as have the front USB sockets, though the back ones still recognise my keyboard. In 7 all the sockets work fine so it's prob. a software/drivers issue, no? Here's the big question. As the mouse don't work in XP, how do I point/click on anything to reinstall/move it? (WHY are computers so overly dependent on one gadget?)
And anyone know where to get USB 2 drivers for XP? I know there's got to be a universal one out there because the mouse actually works in Hiren's Boot Disc's Mini XP. I've virus-checked my computer with Malwarebytes and Avast Free (god, that's slow!) and they both tell me its clean (now, there were 125 infections but they were all classed as PUPs, not full-on viruses.) And how the heck do I install the drivers without having a mouse to point/click on anything?
Yours frustratedly (I'm using my Win7 drive right now, just means I can't get any real work done!)
