My cpu is overheating like crazy! I've checked the voltage and the thermal paste etc but i can't cool it down. It gets to 95°c in less than 10 minutes in idle. What do I do?

Solution
Frankly I would not recommend dumping much money into that old CPU. The Athlon x2 is worth 99 cents on eBay.

The components in your PC are ~8 years old and for anything more than basic desktop usage they'd probably end up going to a recycler, to be melted down for their rare earths. If you still have the ability to return the components you can probably do much better.

EDIT: Pick up any AMD stock cooler, it should work. You might be able to get it for free.
Gigabyte AM3+ AMD DDR3 1333 760G HDMI USB 3.0 Micro ATX Motherboard GA-78LMT-USB3, AMD ADXB26OCK23GM Athlon II X2 B26 3.20GHz Socket AM2+/AM3 Regor CPU Processor, and just a fanless heatsink on the cpu

Since you already have an AM3+ motherboard (which I would not have recommended), something like an FX-4300 might be found in that price range, and it will come with an adequate cooler. It will also be more than twice, possible close to 3x as fast as the Athlon X2. Be aware that it's also a 4 year old CPU though and is basically discontinued.

The FX-4100 would be an improvement, but the FX-41xx, 61xx and 81xx are notoriously bad CPUs. AMD's Bulldozer architecture performed very badly when compared with Intel's processors at the time, and were even a bit slower than their previous CPUs that they replaced, the Phenom II's.

I would suggest either a Phenom II x4 or an FX-4300, depending on what price you can get.
