Question Create a bootable USB with a disk image?

Really having trouble getting google to understand my search terms, so I would appreciate some help.

I bought a new SSD for my laptop that has only a single m.2 slot. Seemed like a good idea, until I discovered that no one in my country sells enclosures for nvme drives.

I'm trying to figure out if theres any software that will allow me to create an image of my current disk onto a USB device, which I can then boot from when I do not have an OS installed.

Everything I'm finding requires windows installed to be able to restore the image, but I need something self booting since once the new HDD is installed, there will be no OS present.

Any tips?

To clarify, I want to be able to boot into the USB to RESTORE the image onto the new SSD. Not just run the OS from the USB.

You can try it with macrium reflect.
Create macrium recovery media on USB flash drive, then create disk image on the same drive.

Just to be clear your laptop only has one NVME slot on which you have your current NVME drive with OS, now you bought another NVME drive but the problem is that if you swap now there will be no OS on the machine? Also, do you want to keep the old drive or just replace it?
