Hi folks,

I'm using Linux Mint and I want to create a bootable USB stick with Windows 10... how can I do this? (I have the ISO for Windows downloaded already).

Many thanks! D

Thanks Colif

I tried using 'woeusb' but it didn't seem to work...

Actually, it was weird. After installing woeusb it seemed like my user/admin password for Linux Mint was no longer working (had to re-install Linux)... any ideas what happened? Could the website (http://www.webupd8.org/ and 'ppa:nilarimogard/webupd8') have hacked into my computer/account??

Any advice much appreciated!

You know more about linux than I do,

sudo = permits users to execute command as super user
Apt appears to be for installing packages

this shows how to find out what commands do: https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/94338/what-does-the-commands-sudo-apt-get-install-and-fakeroot-stand-for

all you did was download packages from a repository called ppa:nilarimogard/webupd8

Here is another way to make the USB in linux, I have heard of gparted before - https://www.linuxbabe.com/ubuntu/easily-create-windows-10-bootable-usb-ubuntu

Thanks Colif

I was wondering if people are able to access your passwords when you type them into Konsole/Terminal?

I tried the other way you mentioned and no luck so far :( The USB doesn't even show up as a boot option when I turn on the computer and choose the primary boot.

Any ideas? Thanks, D

Thank you for getting back to me R_1, and apologies for the delay in responding.

I ended up using my neighbours computer (running Windows) t0 make life easier! But I will try the Virtualbox option in the future if need be.

Thanks again, D
