Hey folks,
Not been on here for a while, and I've not done this for a while either, so I'm asking:
Anyone know of a quick way to download an old MacOS image and prep a bootable USB for use on a mac.
I have an old Power Mac (2013 'trashcan' type) from work, that we were given to take home during the Covid lockdowns, after we'd upgraded to much more powerful PC workstations in 2022.
Well, the other day I turned the mac on (only use it for messaging and video tutorials these days, my 2014 PC build is still running the latest adobe updates) - it got halfway through the boot process and failed, restarted itself and tried again.. after around about the 5th or 6th attempt it threw up a serious looking error message.
I'm not really that bothered about saving anything on the HD though, I just aim to wipe the drive and start fresh...
hoping it's just the drive...
Any ideas? Looking for minimal effort/pain type scenario - like: download this handy utility, that goes off and finds the image and then creates the bootable USB stick, copying over the OS at the same time, kind of deal?
If not, I can do it manually too, I'm just not having much luck finding the OS image for the USB.
I'm sure I've done something similar before but it's been years since I've been rummaging around inside a computer case with serious intent. Not sure I can format for a mac filesystem on PC either...
Thanks in advance.
