How dou you set up an easy way to play Quake3arena with another friend over
the Internet? (I want a private game for only me and my friend through ADSL.

When one of us creating a server, and the other one is choosing
Multiplayer-->Specify
and typing my IP adress in that window it doesn't find anything.
If we switch and the other on creates the server and I type the IP adress to
that persons machine,
nothing happens.

How do you do this?

You have to be able to connect directly to one anothers computers.
If you have a router you will need to forward a port or 2, if you have a
firewall you will have to allow the connection or turn it off.

Well thats the way it supposed to work, specifying the ip and same port
27960 by default already running the game. The only thing i can think of is
one or both are running a firewall either software or hardware thats
preventing the connection from being made.
which point release version you both using?

It was that I had one point released installed and my friend another, but
now
we have the same p.r. installed and it works.
