Creative People Come!: N64 Control Stick Repair

So for as long as I can remember, the joystick on my N64 controller has, well, looked like this:

Dont mind the nasty stuff in there, thats just hot glue :p

Since I don't want to have to fight with others about "who gets the better controller", I am trying to fix it.

I tried taking a clothing button and tried to hot glue, and use some of that superglue gel, but the button ends up breaking off.

Can anyone think of some sort of way to either adhere the button onto the small metal stick or think of something completely new.

Thanks!

I would buy a small black rubber solid cork, poke a hole, and glue it in with epoxy or something strong.

Other option is by this http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=n64+controller+parts&_sop=15 for super cheap and take the tip off and use that. (I think that is the right model)

Brilliant. I found a cork, poked a hole, glued that sucker and wrapped it in duct tape. Looks like a good fix to me.

I just saw this stuff called Sugru: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8fOSo_EN-y4 (sorry for advertising, I think this is cool)
It would be the perfect stuff, but its expensive and duct tape is cooler.

Thanks everyone.

Sweet creativity is the way to roll. BTW you can get the stock N64 tip for that kind of money, but cool stuff will probably buy some.
