I hope I got this in the right place, if not, then truly sorry.
So I just bought a new Headset for my PC (Sennheiser G4me Zero) and with it bought a cheap Sound Card as I was unsure if my Onboard could handle the 150 OHM impedance of this headset. The Creative Sound Blaster Audigy FX is what I went with as it was cheap, didn't want to spend $150 on a sound card if I didn't need it, and to clarify the on board does a great job, but the sound card gives it more boom and higher volume.... if needed.
The problem is, whenever playing a game and in certain other circumstances I will get this buzzing sound in the headphones. I am almost certain it isn't interference as this buzzing does NOT happen at all with the onboard sound It also doesn't happen all the time, currently listening to music on YouTube, and no buzzing, but start up Guild Wars 2, Diablo 3 or any other number of games I play, and instant buzzing, it's loud enough to be a bother but low enough to be trumped by higher volume, but I don't want to go deaf playing games.
I have been searching online for about 3 hours on how to fix this and have found no solution. If you're here to tell me it's interference, I don't want to hear it as I would bet you're wrong. It has to be drivers, settings issue, sound card or some type of issue between the slot and the card..... idk again this does NOT happen all the time, mostly only when playing games, music/Netflix/Youtube is fine. and overall the sound is fantastic, but this buzzing.... idk.
Things I've tried:
I just did my annual windows reinstall (8.1) today as I had gotten my new hardware. This is a complete wipe of the SSD with Windows reinstalled, all updates have been downloaded and installed (except win 10 update yuck).
I made sure all Realtek drivers were uninstalled.
Removed and reinserted Sound Card.
Reconfirmed connections.
Went back to onboard sound and reinstalled drivers (resolves buzzing but lesser sound quality)
I'm not quite sure what else to try, guess I'll dive into the BIOS again and see if I missed something while I wait patiently for a response.
Please only respond if you KNOW a solution OR possible solutions. Thanks ahead of time.
