[SOLVED] Creative sound blasterx G6 PC installation problems

Hi, I am trying to install a sound blasterx G6 on my pc but have had several problems. Before I start, it works fine on PS4 connected via optical or usb.

The issue is when I connect it to the pc with the usb cable the volume control does not adjust the volume. Windows will show the volume slider going up and down but the sound carries on playing as if I’m not doing anything, sound even plays when it is muted. In addition to this the sound blaster connect software closes itself very quickly when I try to launch it, as it starts up it says “starting device” in a blue bar before it closes.

I’ve tried installing in safe mode and which did not help.

My motherboard is the gigabyte gaming 7 OP with the latest bios.

Any help will be appreciated.

The G6 magically started to work as normal when I uninstalled the Realtek drivers. Once it works it is safe to reinstall Realtek drivers without issue.

I guess this is now resolved for me.
